This look was inspired by The xx and their second album "Coexist" which was released in 2015. The meaning of coexist, got me thinking about how different things can actually ironically exist at the same time. The questions that surfaced in my mind were, the coexist of life and death / the coexist of multiple 'people' (personalities) in one person. Hence, with this inspiration is the birth of our very first look.

So what's the link? Well, two different cameras were used in this photoshoot one of which is a modified infrared camera which creates a lifeless yet contrasting effect on the images and the other one a normal camera. With these two effects, the subtle portrayal of life and death can be shown as these images are together in one series.

The first image of this series represents the multiple people in a single photo. This is the representation of someone who feels the need to have different personalities in order to fit in today's society. Someone who feels trapped and judged for being themselves.

So, in conclusion the moral of this look is that if you ever feel like you are torn between life and death just because you can't be your true self. Don't. If you ever feel like you have to put up a front of different personalities be it with your friends, family or loved ones. Don't. Sometimes you just got to fuck it and live a little for yourself and not for the people around you. As cliché as it sounds, people will love you for who you are. Be who you want to be, respect yourself a little more.
